New Users


Accessing PDL is as easy as 1, 2, 3


First
Request a Payload Developer or an ISS Integrator Account. The Helpdesk processes the account request, gets approval, assigns a Username and Password.

Second
Configure the Browser. The Helpdesk provides support for IE 6 & 7, and provides some support for Mozilla Firefox. There is more information in the USER SUPPORT section under Browser Configuration

Third
Login! That's all there is to it.

When logging in you can expect to see Security Warning dialog box -

Hints & Tips

Passwords
(1) Passwords are case sensitive.
(2) Must contain at least 8 characters
(3) Cannot use the last 5 passwords
(4) Must contain at least 1 number
Forgot your password? Call the Helpdesk. The temporary password provided by the Helpdesk has to be changed upon the next login.


Teams
Team concept in the PDL
  • Allows users to collaborate regarding payload data.
  • Provides flexibility by allowing Team Administrators or Team Managers to grant or deny access to payload data.
The Help Desk - Team Administrator
  • Creates teams
  • Assigns the team manager
  • Verifies citizenship of foriegn nationals (Export Control access)
The Team Manager
  • Assigns/deletes managers
  • Users to/from the team
  • Grants/revokes team privileges

Note: Team Management does not apply to the CDH dataset.

Browser Configuration
Start -> Control Panel -> JAVA In the panel, select the Advanced tab. Open Java Plug-in.
Uncheck "Enable the next-generation Java Plug-in"
Enable - ActiveX applications and Plug-ins
Disable - Pop-up blockers

Acrobat Reader
Some PDL reports are viewed in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. To view these reports, the Reader must be installed.

Mozilla Firefox
Mozilla Firefox is an alternative browser.
Download and Install Mozilla Firefox

Windows Vista
Vista operating system is not currently supported for PDL. There may be workarounds available on the Net. Search Vista and Oracle.

Release 20.0


EXPRESS Logistics Carrier (ELC)


PDL Release 20.0 contains a new Express Logistics Carrier (ELC) custom report for the Integration Engineer (IE) and the Dataset Manager (DSM). Accompanying changes were made to the ELC Resources and Analog data entry screens.
